February 7, 2017
Today, the Walt Disney Company held their Q1 2017 Earnings Call. So, I thought I could spout out the numbers, including their posted fiscal Q1 earnings per share (EPS) of $1.55 on $14.78 billion in revenue versus the analysts expectation of an EPS of $1.49 on $15.26 billion in revenue; but, I won’t. I will, however, leave the below chart here for those interested and instead, move onto the news everyone wants to read about!
Pandora – The World of Avatar
On January 10, 2014, construction began on the new land, Pandora – The World of Avatar, in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. Today, after years of cranes in the wings and partitions surrounding the highly anticipated new land, Disney made the official announcement of when guests will begin to experience the world of Pandora themselves: May 27, 2017!!

Star Wars Land
On April 14, 2016, at both Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the construction for both Star Wars Land projects began. Those guests who have visited either park recently have encountered cranes and a chain link fenced lined double wrapped with a brown fabric surrounding the construction zone so that no one can see through. Unfortunately, guests will have to wait just a little bit longer until they’re able to experience Star Wars Land firsthand. The land is expected to open at both parks in the year Disney’s Hollywood Studios celebrates its 30th Anniversary and the year the final Star Wars sequel trilogy will be released: 2019! No exact date is scheduled just yet, but I’m certain guests will begin booking vacations to both coasts quickly!

Are you just as excited about both additions as I am? Which land are you most looking forward to? Why? Leave your comments below!
